Safe Schools and Healthy Students Presentation At Houghton High School

Keeping schools safe and students healthy will be the focus of a community event at the Houghton High School Auditorium.

The public is welcome to this free presentation by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, one of the world’s leading experts on the causes of violence and school safety.

Grossman is the author of the Pulitzer-nominated book “On Killing” and the critically-acclaimed book “Stop Teaching Our Kids To Kill.” His latest book, “Assassination Generation: Video Games, Aggression, and the Psychology of Killing” was published in November 2016.

Grossman has testified before Senate Committees and has written numerous encyclopedia entries on violence.  He served as a key trainer in the aftermath of Littleton, Colorado and other school shootings.

He has been the keynote speaker at conferences around North America including the Ontario Teachers’ Federation Conference, the Academy of Pediatrics, University of Indiana Medical Department, International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, International Congress, and Association of School Administrators.

Lt. Colonel Grossman’s presentation will focus on how we can reverse the escalating levels of violence in our schools and keep our children safe.

He will present to parents and community members on December 3, 2018, at the Houghton High School auditorium from 6:30-8:00pm.
