Road construction projects are in full swing and can be found just about anywhere in the Copper Country.
M-26 will be closed about a mile and half west of Copper Harbor starting Monday as crews replace a culvert. Traffic is being detoured onto US-41 until Friday.
Motorists will find one lane of traffic under flag control on US-41 from Mohawk past Lac La Belle Road until July 19th as crews work on chip sealing, crack and shoulder repair.
The reconstruction of railroad crossings will have traffic reduced to one lane using temporary traffic signals on US-41 in L’Anse and Bovine in Baraga County until July 19th.
Chip sealing, crack and shoulder repair is also underway on US-45 from the Gogebic/Ontonagon county line to the Baltimore River using one-lane traffic under flag control until August 23rd.
A similar project is being done on M-95 from US-41 to south of Marquette County Road LLK with one-lane traffic under flag control. That project is expected to be completed by July 19th.
Repairs to flood damaged roads also continues with the Houghton Canal Road being closed from Coles Creek Road to Markham’s Marina starting tomorrow until around June 18th. Other sections will be reduced to one lane until paving is complete in late June.
Paradise Road will remain closed at the Pilgrim River until bridge replacement is completed this fall.
Airport Park Road will be closed for repairs north of Hilltop Road from the second week of July through the end of the month.
Lower Forsman Road – will be closed for repairs at Gooseneck Creek from June 3rd to July 16th.
And construction will begin on Coal Dock Road east of Sunshine Road in mid-July.
