You can add another construction project to your list of driving woes this summer.
Starting Monday, the Michigan Department of Transportation will begin a project to repair concrete on US-41, US-45 and M-26 in Houghton and Ontonagon Counties.
The $2.8 million project will include asphalt resurfacing; concrete pavement, curb, gutter, sidewalk and ramp repair; concrete joint repair; and pavement markings on 6 miles of roadway at various locations along those roads in the village of Ontonagon, Chassell, and the city of Houghton.
The work will require lane closures under flag control.
MDOT says the project will restore pavement condition for a smoother driving surface and increased safety, and will extend the lifespan of the roadway.
Work is expected to continue until early October.
