River Valley Bank is helping flood victims by exceeding their fundraising goal for the Portage Health Foundation’s Flood with Love initiative.
The bank put out a challenge to the community that the River Valley Bank Foundation would match up to $20,000 in donations to the flood relief effort.
The drive was so successful, River Valley was able to donate $41,377.01 to the fund.
“River Valley Bank truly cares about the communities we serve,” said Houghton River Valley Bank Market Manager, Stacy Hollenbeck. “We are proud to help with this initiative and are thankful to those who contributed to the fund. Together, we can rebuild.”
“It has been amazing to see the generous spirit toward flood relief efforts here in Houghton County,” said, Chelsea Goodreau, Marketing and Communications Coordinator for the Portage Health Foundation. “River Valley put their money where their heart is by challenging the generosity of their clients to raise monies together. This is true partnership.”
Overall, the Portage Health Foundation has raised over $600,000 in donations from private and corporate donors.
The Flood with Love initiative is helping with furnaces, hot water heaters, foundation and structural issues to the homes, outdoor excavation to help with health concerns, and more.
