Baraga County residents got a look at the area’s newest recovery assistance option yesterday.
The Ripple Recovery Residence in L’Anse will be able to accommodate up to eight women as they rebuild their lives after substance abuse issues.
A limited number of their children can also be included. The residence will be operated by Great Lakes Recovery Centers.
The local Drug Abatement and Rehabilitation Team helped to organize the project, and financial assistance came from the Superior Health Foundation and Portage Health Foundation.
Program supervisor Elissa Kent said local support was impressive
One supporter is John Ansell, pastor of United Lutheran Church, which is right across Main Street from the Ripple Residence.
The Ripple Recovery Residence hopes to bring in its first residents within the next several weeks.
