Requests For Proposals Go Out For Houghton Skatepark

Plans for the new Houghton Skatepark are moving forward.

Houghton City Manager Eric Waara told the city council that requests for proposals for the design of the park are about ready to go out.

Waara said they have a list of about 18 companies from the skatepark committee to send the requests in the next week

The city expects to select one of those proposals by late August or early September.

Design would take place over the winter with construction expected to begin in the spring.
