Applications due Friday, September 14 by 4:00 PM.
HANCOCK, MICHIGAN – As a result of the devastating Father’s Day Flood that hit our region on Sunday, June 17th, the Keweenaw Community Foundation (KCF) set in place a Disaster Relief Fund as a way for donors seeking an official conduit to contribute monetary relief efforts. The initial funding (Phase 1), resulted in the distribution of $1,000 Visa gift cards to those individuals whose homes fall under the majorly or completely destroyed spectrum per the list compiled through the Houghton County Unified Command.
It is at this time that the Board of Trustees would like to initiate Phase 2 of distribution which will start with the closure of KCF’s Flood Relief Application. The deadline to apply for KCF Disaster Relief Funding should be completed by Friday, September 14 by 4:00 PM to be considered eligible. Once all applications are reviewed and distribution is complete, the Keweenaw Community Foundation will then announce the process for which additional monies will be distributed from the fund. The next phase of assistance will go towards individuals that applied for the initial distribution.
If you have not already done so, you may obtain an application for Phase 1 funding online at keweenawcommunityfoundation.org/who-we-are/disaster-relief-application/, by calling 906-233-6621, or emailing dial.help@dialhelp.org. Completed applications must be submitted to Dial Help for review. After review, qualified applicants will be notified with instructions for the redemption process.
