Representative Bergman Supports Veteran Owned Small Businesses

Representative Jack Bergman’s bipartisan legislation meant to protect veteran owned small businesses, has passed through the House with unanimous support.

H.R. 561, aims to safeguard small businesses in the Veterans First Program, which ensures preference be given to Veteran-owned small businesses when VA contracts are given out.

The legislation eliminates abuse and wasting of taxpayer dollars, and also stops the cutting down of profit margins for veterans.

Representative Bergman said this, on the House Floor.

The Bill also requires the VA refer suspected violations to the Office of the Inspector General.
