Representative Jack Bergman, from Michigan’s 1st District has highlighted applications for Rural Transportation Technical Assistance Support.
The USDA has announced it’s accepting applications for grants for state, local and non-profit organizations to help out with technical assistance for rural communities with unmet transportation needs.
Many U.P. residents rely on rural infrastructure for their jobs, education and other needs such as healthcare.
President Trump, along with Representative Bergman, have made rural infrastructure a priority, which is often overlooked, when federal transportation funds are awarded.
State, local and non profit organizations are encouraged to apply.
The entities which apply, will be chosen on a competitive basis.
Key strategies of the grant include developing the rural economy, supporting the rural workforce and improving quality of life in rural areas.
