Representative Jack Bergman, from Michigan’s 1st Congressional District, has announced the latest updates from the United States Department of Agriculture, Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Transportation, and their efforts support for rural communities.
The USDA and EPA have reached an agreement, that will tackle the challenges presented by aging infrastructure, workforce shortages, increased costs and limited management capacity in terms of providing safe drinking water.
The USDA is accepting Fiscal Year 2020 grant applications to help rural communities in expanding their capacity to access financial resources for economic growth.
The USDA has also announced that $7.5 million grants are now available, through the Community Facilities Technical Assistance and Training Program, to help rural communities recover from natural disasters.
The DOT has announced a $1 Billion Grant Program, to aid in infrastructure and making the country’s roadways safer.
