Remember or Honor Loved Ones With Tree of Love Program

tree-of-love-flyerLAURIUM – Begin the holiday season with love and memories by joining the Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital Auxiliary in their 23rd annual Tree of Love Ceremony.

The ceremony takes place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium.

Enjoy live holiday music performed by members of the Noteworthy women’s chorus. Guest speakers include Richard Leivdal, administrator at Gardenview in Calumet. There will be a tree lighting, snacks and light refreshments.

In addition to the ceremony, the Tree of Love program is an opportunity for the community to remember or to honor someone special by purchasing a Light, Bell, Angel or Star in their name. All proceeds are used to purchase new equipment for the hospital.

“Your donation is a great way to remember and to feel wonderful about giving,” said Mariah Maggio, volunteer services coordinator at Aspirus. “The names will be displayed at the hospital through the holidays.”

Donation forms are available at all Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital and Clinic locations and select businesses in the Calumet area. Forms can be dropped off at any Aspirus location, or mailed to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital Auxiliary, 205 Osceola Street, Laurium, MI 49913. Forms must be turned in by Dec. 5.

Sponsored by the hospital Auxiliary, the Tree of Love program has been an important part of the holiday season for local residents for many years. The ceremony gives people a chance to remember and honor loved ones with the added support and fellowship of hospital staff, friends and neighbors.
