Do you have what it takes to be a Copperman?
The 25th annual Aspirus Copperman Triathlon and Duathlon take place in Copper Harbor next Saturday.
The triathlon includes a 1/2-mile swim in Lake Fanny Hooe, a 23-mile bike and a 5-mile run.
The duathlon starts with a 6K run instead of the swim. The race will then continue with the 23-mile bike and the 5-mile run.
There is still space to register but you’ll want to act quickly as they typically see more than 300 people take part, and Race Director Crystal Holzberger says you’d better come prepared for the competition.
The Aspirus Copperman Triathlon and Duathlon stages at the boat ramp of Fort Wilkins State Park.
Individuals and teams are welcome.
The event begins at 8:45am
So, what does it take to train for such a grueling event?
Online registration ends at midnight on Tuesday but you could show up to register in person at the Copper Harbor Community Center next Friday.
