What better way to enjoy a day of rest from our labors than to take a five-mile walk?
UP Health System—Portage is invited people to join in on their annual Labor Day Bridge Walk on Monday.
The walk begins at 8:15am at the Kestner Waterfront Park in Houghton, with the five-mile event beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The walk is free, and sponsored by the City of Hancock, City of Houghton, UP Health System – Portage and Michigan’s Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness.
Walkers across the state are doing similar events, inspired by the annual Labor Day five-mile walk over the Mackinac Bridge.
Preregister online at https://www.portagehealth.org/classes-events/healthy-living/events/labor-day-bridge-walk.
The course is stroller friendly and dogs on leashes are welcome.
