Pasty Fest returns to Calumet next weekend and preparations are already underway for the traditional Pasty Fest Parade.
Pasty Fest will take place on Saturday, August 18th, the same day that the Great Deer Chase mountain bike race is held.
Registration is open for the parade and organizer Dave Crowley says you need to pre-register if you want to be eligible for prizes.
Crowley said, “This year we have three $50 prizes for the best commercial entry, the best non-commercial entry, which would be like non-profits, families, different groups that want to put something together, and then the third one is for the best pasty spirit, which was also described as by one of our committee members as the best “pastyness.”
The registration deadline is Monday, August 13th. Click here to register.
The parade lineup begins at 12:30 and steps off at 2pm, heading down 6th Street with the Pastyfest street fair taking place one block over on 5th Street.
The Pasty Eating Contest and the Pasty Bake-Off will also be held. Details on Pasty Fest 2018 can be found here.
