COVID-19 diagnoses have dropped dramatically in the Copper Country.
Figures released this morning by the Western Upper Peninsula Health Department show just 32 new confirmed positives across the five-county area since the last update was published Thursday evening.
28 of those are in Houghton County, with two each in Ontonagon and Gogebic Counties.
Two counties actually saw their numbers reduced, with Baraga County reporting 11 fewer positives, and Keweenaw County six fewer.
11 deaths were reported, with five each in Houghton and Gogebic Counties, and one in Keweenaw County. That pushes the pandemic death toll in the five-county region to 106.
