In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Keweenaw National Historical Park, the Calumet Theatre is hosting the Red Jacket Jamboree this weekend.
The jamboree is a live variety radio show, recorded in front of the theater audience, and will showcase music, poems and stories of the Copper Country and the Upper Peninsula alike.
This year’s show is hosted by Lena Dorey, and will include songs from the Red Jacket Jamboree band, plays and stories from the Red Jacket Actors and will also feature a number of special guests, including nationally acclaimed singer-songwriter, Sean Rowe.
The jamboree is said to be similar to that of the Red Metal Radio Show, a local favorite focusing on the life and times of residents during the mining boom.
Show times are Saturday at 7:00pm, and Sunday at 2:00pm, with reserved seating tickets.
