Print Shop Hit by Car

A downtown Houghton business is beginning to recover after its building was hit by a car Saturday.

Print Shop owner BJ Litsenberger tells us that a woman lost her brakes as she was driving down Pewabic Street toward Shelden Avenue around mid-day.

Litsenberger says the driver did a good job avoiding other cars and pedestrians, before slamming into the corner of the building while trying to turn the car onto the parking ramp.

Display windows were broken out, and Litsenberger says contractors will be brought in to see if the building suffered any structural harm. She also thanked Auto Pro Glass and Tire for responding after-hours to make temporary repairs.

Despite the damage, Litsenberger says the Print Shop is, and will remain, fully open for business.
