Portage Lake District Library Hosts Travelogue on Africa

The Portage Lake District Library will host a two part travelogue series about Africa on Monday, March 12 and on Wednesday, April 11. Both programs begin at 6:30 p.m.

Join Isle Royale National Park Ranger Mike Ausema as he describes an epic two month journey through the wilds of Africa, which he and his wife, Susanna, undertook in the winter of 2007/2008. They traveled on an overland truck through eight countries, from South Africa to Kenya, camping nearly the entire way and visiting nineteen National Parks enroute.

On March 12, Ausema will show slides of their travels through South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. The program on April 11 will feature Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, and Kenya.

Everyone is invited to hear about their remarkable experiences and learn more about this beautiful and vast part of the world.

Library programs are free and open to everyone. For more information, please call the library at 482-4570.
