Portage Lake District Library and Houghton Police Department Host Halloween Fun for Kids

The Portage Lake District Library and the City of Houghton Police Department invite kids and their families to wear Halloween costumes and have a frightfully good time at the library on Friday, October 19, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

“Special guests” will read stories throughout the evening during the Haunted Storytime. There will be Halloween games and activities, hot dogs and veggie dogs, chips, apple cider, and Halloween treats. Kids can walk through the gently “spooky” Michigan Room and watch a Halloween movie.

Prior to this event, kids and their families can enjoy more Halloween fun at the Isle Royale Visitor Center from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Kids can go on a scavenger hunt aboard the Ranger III and receive a 10% off coupon to spend at the Visitor Center’s gift store.

This event is free and open to all. For more information, please call the library at 482-4570.
