Police Dept. Quarterly Report, Record Year At Campground & Farewell To Slivon & Markkanen

Hancock Police Chief Wayne Butler gave his quarterly report to the city council at their regular meeting Wednesday.

Traffic accidents were up over the summer, not surprisingly, given the changes due to the construction.

Butler also thanked the council for the additional staff and vehicles, which he says have had a positive impact on their efforts to patrol the city.

The Hancock Campground had a record year in attendance.

Revenue was over $100,000 for the year for the first time.

The previous record was set last year.

And finally, the Hancock City Council says farewell to council members John Slivon and Greg Markkanen.

Wednesday was their last city council meeting, Slivon is retiring after 8 years of service and Markkanen is running for election to the State House.

The next city council meeting will be held after the November 8th Election.
