With three days until the Blue Line Support Walk, Keweenaw Report reached out to Houghton Police Chief John Donnelly, he had this to say about his police force.
In recent weeks, across the country, there have been calls to reduce and in some cities, defund police departments, and divert the money to social programs.
That has even been called for in Houghton and Hancock, in recent city council meetings, and at Black Lives Matter Marches on the bridge.
This is a chance to come show your support for local law enforcement.
The walk starts at 5:30pm Friday, at the Krist Foodmart in Houghton, will proceed through town, and then cross the bridge into Hancock.
