The Portage Lake District Library is now offering Chromebooks for checkout.
Chromebooks are small personal computers that run on the Chrome operating system. They have minimal software, but are designed for web applications where data is stored online.
They can be used for such functions as homework, job searches, research and web browsing.
Library cardholders may check out a Chromebook for up to 14 days, and take it with them. Patrons without library cards who are at least 12 years old may use the Chromebooks at the library.
