PLDL Celebrates Return to Full Service

The Portage Lake District Library is celebrating a return to normalcy during National Library Week this week. Michael Stanitis says full operations have resumed, after two years of COVID-19 limitations… [STANITIS A].

“A lot of our patrons know we are fully open again, and people are back in the library for programming and stuff, so, yeah, we’re all the way back.

The celebration includes a couple of events that kids can get involved with all week…

All week long there’s a scavenger hunt for the kids. Basically, we them how many books are in the library. They can throw their guess into the jar, and we have some prizes for them. There’s also a portable bulletin board up for them to draw their favorite book cover or literary character, and we have treats for them at the front desk.

There’s a community celebration planned for this afternoon from 2:00 until 3:00…

Local musician Steve Jones will be here, and we’re going to have cake, and just hang out.

The film Julia, about celebrated TV chef Julia Child, will be shown tomorrow evening at 6:00 at the library. On Saturday, kids can stop by between 11:00 and 1:00 to decorate their own cloth library bag.
