Planned Power Outage In L’Anse

A planned power outage is taking place today in the L’Anse area.

Upper Peninsula Power Company says the planned outage is necessary to perform maintenance on equipment owned and operated by American Transmission Company to improve electric reliability and safety.

Electrical service will be shut off between 8am and noon.

Affected areas include the Village of L’Anse, UPPCO lines northeast of L’Anse along Pequaming and Skanee Roads, UPPCO lines south of L’Anse along US-41 to Alberta, Herman Hill, and along Menge Creek Road, and Ontonagon REA lines in Aura, Skanee and Herman.

The Village of Baraga will not be affected.

Some stores and offices will not be open during the outage.
