PHF Offers Recreation Grants

The Portage Health Foundation is looking to help pay for some projects that will enhance recreational facilities and resources in the region.

Up to $100,000 is available to cover a collection of grants. 

Previous projects funded through this effort include improvements to Gratiot River Park in Keweenaw County, Point Abbaye Park in Baraga County, the Houghton County Arena, the Houghton Skate Park, Terrace Park in Hancock and Meadowbrook Arena in L’Anse, the installation of a rope tow in Greenland Township, upgrades at the Swedetown Trails, the Chassell Trails and the Copper Harbor Trails, and handicap-focused improvements at the Drill House Rink in Calumet Township and Ontonagon village public beach.

If your organization has a similar project that needs money, send a letter of inquiry to the Portage Health Foundation by February 3rd. Full grant applications are due March 16th. For application information, click here.
