Phase 1 Of Disaster Relief Fund Distribution Begins

The distribution process is underway for monies donated to the Disaster Relief Fund, set up by the Keweenaw Community Foundation following the Father’s Day Flood.

The initial funding will result in the distribution of $1,000 Visa gift cards to those individuals whose homes falls under the majorly or completely destroyed spectrum, according to the list complied through the Houghton County Unified Command.

An application can be obtained online at keweenawcommunityfoundation.org/who-we-are/disaster-relief-application/, by calling 906-233-6621, or emailing dial.help@dialhelp.org.

Completed applications must be submitted to Dial Help for review.

After review, qualified applicants will be notified with instructions for the redemption process.

The Foundation hopes that with continued donations, they will be able to widen the range of individuals who will be eligible for assistance during their next phases of distribution.
