Permanent Swedetown Bridge To Be Installed This Fall

The permanent bridge over Swedetown Creek may be installed much sooner than originally expected.

The culvert on M-203 in Hancock was completely washed out during the June flood.

A temporary one-lane bridge with a traffic light was installed but the Michigan Department of Transportation said it would likely be next year before there would be a new bridge.

MDOT put the project on the fast track and have already ordered a new concrete bridge to be installed with a projected date of completion of October 31st
