Park Support For Calumet Produces Results

Main Street Calumet continues their work to help support Calumet businesses and the surrounding area.

Executive Director Leah Polzien gave a presentation to the Keweenaw National Historical Park Advisory Commission at their quarterly meeting Tuesday.

Polzien thanked the Commission for supporting Main Street Calumet in getting a grant to help promote the area and for their help in developing the Village of Calumet’s 5 year Master Plan.

The Master Plan is one of the aspects of being named a Redevelopment Ready Community by the state, which can lead to more access to additional grant funding.

Polzien also highlighted the new Main Street Calumet brochures and the newly designed website for the Village.

These are part of an overall marketing strategy that will continue through the summer as the organization looks for other ways to make Calumet more attractive, including mapping and planning the various trails that crisscross through the region.
