Parade of Nations Shines

The flags of around 70 different countries were carried through the streets of Houghton and Hancock Saturday in the annual Parade of Nations.

Other highlights included the MTU Pep Band, African students leading a call-and-response chant, a performance by the renowned Cass Tech High School Marching Band from Detroit, and appearances by the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile and the Mr. Peanut Nutmobile, which are in the area for the Kraft Hockeyville USA celebration.

The parade was followed by the Multicultural Festival, which featured international food and entertainment at Dee Stadium.
