Parade Of Confections Giving Sweet Support To Arts Center

There’s a sweet way to help support the Copper Country Community Arts Center this Friday at the Finnish-American Heritage Center.

It’s the annual Parade of Confections fundraiser featuring a live auction of a wide selection of decadent gourmet desserts.

“Brad Baltensperger is our auctioneer and he keeps things going at a fast pace and a real fun time.  Clay Hilman will be playing the piano through the evening and wel have some of our community people parading the cakes around as they’re auctioned off one at a time,” said Art Center Director Cynthia Coté, who added there will also be a silent art auction and live music.

Tickets are $10 if purchased in advance and $15 at the door.  Proceeds go to support the many programs the Arts Center provides through the year.

Coté said, “It helps to support our amazing educations program—a lot of the programs that we offer for kids throughout the summer and then we have free programming for teenagers.  So 8th through 12th graders have a series of classes that are available to them at no cost.”

Advance tickets are available at the Copper Country Community Arts Center or by calling 482-2333.
