Over 400 9th Grade Students Attend 2020 College and Career Fair

Not even a snowstorm kept over 400 9th grade students from researching post-secondary options at the 2020 College & Career Fair, hosted by TRIO Pre-College Programs, and sponsored by Portage Health Foundation.

More than 400 students from the Copper Country attended the fair, and spoke with local professionals from all sorts of careers.

In total, there were over 130 professionals, from nearly 60 businesses, organizations and colleges.

Catherine Jordan, TRIO Talent Search Academic Advisor, said “This was a great opportunity for students to explore their options after high school. Students had the chance to examine career paths, ask about daily tasks, then find a college that will help them pursue that career.”

TRIO Pre-College programs have hosted the event for the last 4 years, but this is the second year the event was held in a fair format.

The search for professionals for next year’s fair is already underway.
