September is Suicide Prevention Month, and the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center wants you to know they’re ready to help you or your loved ones.
The “Be There” campaign, reminds everyone that small actions can make a big difference for veterans going through a rough patch.
Sharon Anastas, suicide prevention coordinator said “It is very important we recognize that we can all have an impact on the lives of others in need. Asking the important questions and offering those resources can have a great impact in reducing veteran suicide.”
The “Be There” campaign has several tips that can make a difference in a veteran’s life including learning about the warning signs of suicide, found on the Veterans Crisis Line webiste, sharing stories of hope and recovery from the VA’s Make The Connection website and simply asking a vet how they’re doing?
