A White Pine man is in jail following a drug bust yesterday.
Detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team tell us they received a tip that a known drug dealer was suspected of receiving large amounts of crystal meth and fentanyl pills. A search of the suspect’s residence turned up approximately 25 grams of crystal meth, and more than 130 pills, which are suspected of containing fentanyl, along with evidence of drug distribution.
Officials say the man was already on a delayed sentence from the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He’s being held in the Ontonagon County Jail.
His name has not been released, because of a continuing investigation.
Detectives were assisted by troopers from the Wakefield Post and Ontonagon Detachment, along with troopers and the K-9 Unit from the Calumet Post. Special Agents from Homeland Security Investigations and DNR officers also assisted in the investigation.
