One Hurt in Three-Car Houghton Crash

One person was treated for injuries following a three-vehicle traffic crash in Houghton yesterday afternoon.

The Houghton Police Department was called out around 2:00.

They learned that a vehicle driven by an 84-year-old Houghton man had failed to yield while making a left-hand turn from westbound Sharon Avenue onto Razorback Drive. He was struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by a 20-year-old Calumet woman. The impact pushed the vehicles into a third vehicle, driven by a 53-year-old Calumet woman, which was stopped at the intersection.

The 84-year-old man was taken by ambulance to U.P. Health System-Portage. The extent of his injuries is not known.

The incident remains under investigation.
