Omega House Receives Grant

The Superior Health Foundation has awarded nearly $124,000 in health centered grant funding, to nine organizations in the Upper Peninsula.

It has also awarded $17,500 in Indigent Care funding.

$2,500 of which went to Houghton’s Omega House, which provides end of life care to those who need it, regardless of their financial situation.

The Gerald Vairo Memorial Fund was established in 2019, and allows people with limited resources to reside at Omega House.

Since 2019, Omega House has provided care to seven residents, for up to seven weeks, free of charge.

Jim LaJoie, executive director for the Superior Health Foundation said they were thankful to provide many organizations with much needed funding.
