Fresh off a year of celebrating Finland’s centennial of independence, the Finnish American Heritage Center isn’t quite done celebrating 100-year anniversaries.
This month’s Nordic Film Series feature of “The Fencer,” which is set in Estonia, will include a pair of special guests to help the Finnish American Heritage Center honor Estonia’s 100th anniversary of independence.
The movie will be shown twice Thursday, January 11th at 2 and 6 p.m.
At both showings, local Estonian-American Marianne Brokaw will offer brief remarks about Estonia, which some consider to be a “cousin” country to Finland.
Fellow Estonian-American Avelin Yost will also be on hand to share more about her home nation’s culture and history.
