The next 1 Million Cups presentation will take place at the Portage Lake District Library this Wednesday at 9am.
1 Million Cups is a free, nationwide program designed to educate, engage and accelerate early-stage startups.
Presentations will be given by local entrepreneurs from Real People Media and Portage Paddle Sports.
Jason Mack from the MTEC Smart Zone will facilitate this event. There will be time for questions and answers following the presentations, and coffee will be served.
Real People Media is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that helps people share their stories through literary, visual, performing, and media arts. They produce The Red jacket Jamboree, an old-time radio variety show performed at the Calumet Theatre.
Portage Paddle Sports offers stand up paddle boards and kayaks for rent at Hancock Beach along the Portage Canal. Their certified team provides a fun and worry free paddle experience. They also have a concession building that sells Jilbert’s Dairy ice cream and other items.
1 Million Cups is not a sales pitch nor is it an investor pitch. The goal is for entrepreneurs to present their business ideas to the public so people can understand what their business does. It is also an opportunity for the public to connect with local innovators and entrepreneurship enthusiasts and support local startups.
