HOUGHTON, MI – Karen DeYoung, DO, will be joining the team of Family Medicine providers at Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center (UGL) in Houghton next month.
Dr. DeYoung grew up in Ludington, MI, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences Degree at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East
Lansing and Flint, MI, and completed her residency in family medicine at Augusta University in Georgia.
Dr. DeYoung enjoys helping patients achieve health and life goals. She loves listening to their life stories and trying to work together to achieve a common goal. “I enjoy working with patients on acute as well as chronic issues with a priority of preventive care,” says Dr. DeYoung, “I love taking care of families from newborns to older adults.” Dr. DeYoung performs osteopathic manipulation which is a hands-on technique used to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness or injury.
Dr. DeYoung looks forward to being part of a community where she and her family have been vacationing for the past several years. It is a dream come true for them all. Dr. DeYoung enjoys spending time with her family – her husband, Dr. Zachariah DeYoung, 11 year old Isabella, 9 year old Sophia, 7
year old Case, and their 2 dogs.
