New Doctor Of Dental Surgery Joins Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center

CALUMET, MI – Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center (UGL) welcomes Alicia Clark, Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), to their team of Dental providers at the Calumet Family Health Center.

Dr. Clark is originally from Caledonia, MI, which is a small town south of Grand Rapids. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology Degree from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI, and then went on to earn her Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree from University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in Detroit, MI.

Clark was drawn to UGL because of the dedication to high-quality dental care for the community. “I was on rotation at UGL for 2 weeks as a student and I could not wait to come back after I left,” says Clark, “I cannot imagine myself anywhere else.”

Dr. Clark enjoys educating the community on dental care to reduce the amount of dental decay and emergency visits. She also wants to give people the confidence to smile again.

Dr. Clark hopes to help educate new parents about the importance of bringing children in for their first dental appointment before the age of one. This will help prevent cavities from an early age and allow the child to develop relationships in order to get them accustomed to being in a dental office.

Clark has a large, blended family and is looking forward to expanding it even more as she is getting married this October. Her fiancé is very excited to move to the Keweenaw. Dr. Clark’s favorite things about the area are the beautiful landscape, the hiking and backpacking trails, the generosity and kindness of the community and the opportunity to begin snowshoeing the area this winter.

Calumet Family Health Center is located at 56720 Calumet Avenue, Calumet, Michigan. To schedule a visit with Alicia Clark, DDS, or one of UGL’s other dental providers in Calumet, call (906) 483-1177.
