National Weather Service Offers Spring Weather Presentation

A Spring Weather Presentation is scheduled for the Houghton area by the National Weather Service of Marquette.

Meteorologists will discuss the increasing weather threats facing Upper Michigan from winter storms, flooding, wind storms, and severe thunderstorms.

The presentation will be held on Wednesday, May 15th at 6:30 PM at the Advanced Technology Development Complex on Michigan Tech’s campus.

The presentation caters to the typical weather enthusiast and allows an opportunity for residents to be actively involved in reporting important weather information to the National Weather Service.

Routine weather reports during active weather are critical to the National Weather Service’s mission, protecting life and property of U.P. residents.

The presentation is free, open to the public, and no advance registration is required.

A calendar of scheduled talks can be found on the National Weather Service Marquette website at www.weather.gov/mqt.  Additional information is also available by calling the National Weather Service at (906)-475-5212
