Names Released In Fatal Dollar Bay Accident

The names of the persons involved in the fatal crash on Monday have been released.

The accident happened on M-26 near Coal Dock Road around 8am.

21-year-old Jerome Berdecia was the driver of the Honda Accord. His wife 21-year-old Neidalis Maldono-Berdecia was also in the car

Jerome died as a result of his injuries and his wife is still at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in stable condition.

He was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard stationed in Dollar Bay at the time of the accident.

The people in the Chevy pickup were the driver, 63-year old Patrick Beyers and his wife 61-year-old Debora Beyers, along with their 34-year-old son Craig Beyers and their 6-year-old grandson.

Debora was taken to U.P. Health System—Marquette where she remains but her condition has not been reported.

The rest of the occupants have been released from Aspirus Keweenaw.

The Houghton County Sheriff’s office says Jerome lost control of his vehicle and crossed the center line into the path of the oncoming car.
