MTU Salutes Winter Graduates

There will be no formal commencement ceremony this weekend, but Michigan Tech is still saluting almost 700 students who completed their degrees at the end of the fall semester. More than 350 undergraduate diplomas will be awarded. Nearly 330 graduate degrees will be conferred, including 53 doctorates.

One part of the traditional commencement will be observed. Remarks by student speaker Viasana Kumar will be available online. Kumar is from Chennai, in the southern part of India. She is graduating with a dual major in management information systems and marketing.

Other students have also been invited to submit photos and thoughts about their time at Tech. All will be available at the Tech commencement website beginning tomorrow morning.

The Tech Air Force and Army ROTC squadrons will conduct virtual commissioning ceremonies tomorrow morning. Three cadets will be sworn in as Air Force officers at 7:30. Eight cadets will be commissioned as Army officers at 9:00. You can access those ceremonies through the MTU commencement page, as well.

The MTU Board of Trustees will review this year’s financial report at a virtual meeting this morning. Access the meeting here.
