MTU Career Fair Draws Crowd

More than 350 companies and many hundreds of well-dressed students squeezed into the SDC yesterday for Michigan Tech’s Fall Career Fair.

Industries represented included construction, computing, manufacturing, banking, automotive, environmental services, governmental departments and more.

Outside, Nick Plahn of Oshkosh Corporation was standing next to a huge wheeled vehicle…

Plahn says Oshkosh needs smart, well-trained people to design their next generation of products…

Inside, companies were in full-on recruitment mode, indicating a hot job market for MTU grads.

Hundreds of those recruiters are staying in town for a day or two to do follow-up interviews with students they met yesterday.

To facilitate parking for all of their vehicles, Cliff Drive through Campus will be reduced to one lane through the day, with only eastbound traffic allowed. MTU Public Safety will be patrolling.
