MSP Calumet Post Hosting Citizens Academy

The Michigan State Police Calumet Post will be hosting a Citizens Academy starting later this month.

The program will begin tentatively on September 25th and conclude on October 16th.

Four 2-hour classes will be held Mondays evenings at the post on US-41 in Calumet.

The academy will give citizens the opportunity to become familiar with the mission and operation of the Michigan State Police, understand the procedures troopers follow, increase their awareness of law enforcement’s role in the community and get to know personnel at the post.

Some examples of topics to be covered include patrol, dispatch, first aid, use of force, personal safety, crime prevention, traffic safety, legal system, criminal investigation and drug awareness.

Space is limited.

To attend, you need to contact the Calumet Post at (906) 337-5145 and fill out an application.
