Construction restrictions on more than half of Michigan’s highway projects will be lifted or loosened for the Independence Day holiday weekend.
Work on 100 of the 162 ongoing projects will stop at 3:00 this afternoon, and resume on Tuesday.
Among the projects where restrictions will remain in place in our region…
• M-64 in Ontonagon County, where temporary signals will control one-lane traffic on bridges over the Floodwood River and the Halfway River west of Ontonagon;
• US-41 and College Avenue in Houghton, where the existing detour will remain in place;
• US-45 in Ontonagon County, where temporary signals will control one-lane traffic at Roselawn Creek, near Paulding.
