More Lift Bridge Closures Planned

Maintenance work will require more early morning traffic delays on the Houghton-Hancock Bridge this week.

Contractors will be closing the bridge multiple times between tomorrow morning and Friday morning. Closings will range from 25 to 40 minutes each. No more than four closures are planned for any one morning. Traffic will be restored by 5:15 each morning.

There may be additional single-lane closures, as well. 

The schedule is tentative, and may be adjusted depending on the weather.

The closures will allow the installation of lower buffers and the removal of the old lift motors, which could not be completed last week because of high winds.
