Mohawk Secretary of State Down To One Day A Week For Winter

The Mohawk Secretary of State office is returning to one-day-a-week service instead of two this week as it adjusts to seasonal business volume.

The office will be open on Thursdays only.

Hours remain 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a lunch closure from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The last day for Tuesday service for the winter was Oct. 25.

The office will be open on Wednesday, Nov. 23 due to the Thanksgiving closure the next day.

The Mohawk office opened in January 1999 and is the first full-service Secretary of State office in Keweenaw County.

Customers renewing driver’s licenses, state IDs or license plate tabs are encouraged to hop online to ExpressSOS.com to conduct their business.

Easy-to-follow instructions are on the renewal notice. License plate tabs will arrive by mail within 14 business days.

Renewals may also be submitted by mail or in person at a Secretary of State office.
