Mobile Voter Registration Drive Arrives At Michigan Tech

Secretary of State Mobile OfficeThe November elections are fast approaching. To help students, faculty, staff and community residents register to vote, the Michigan Secretary of State’s office is bringing a mobile voter registration van to Michigan Tech. The van will be outside the Memorial Union Building from noon to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19.

The Michigan Tech visit is one of three planned for Upper Peninsula campuses next week. On Wednesday, the mobile office will be at Northern Michigan University and on Thursday, it will be at Lake Superior State University. The stops are part of an 18-campus ExpressSOS Voter Registration Drive.

“College students are a critical group in any election, but even more so this year,” said Les Cook, vice president for student affairs and advancement. “Having the mobile office on campus offers our students access to get registered in an efficient and convenient manner. This is a great opportunity for students to exercise their right to vote.”
