Missing Man With Dementia Found Safe

A man is back home safe after being reported missing in Houghton County Tuesday.

Deputies from the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to M-26 near Bunker Hill just before 10:00am.

A 62-year-old man from DeTour went missing from his daughter’s vehicle around 9:30am.

The man was suffering from dementia and had been last seen wearing an orange hat, green winter jacket and blue jeans.

He was found on M-26 near Ripley around 11:30am and was returned to his daughter in good health.

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Lake Linden Village Police Department, Michigan State Police, MSP Canine, and Superior Search and Rescue.
