A Michigan Tech Team, has won 1st place in the Transportation Research Board’s Airport Cooperative Research Program student design competition.
The team’s project was in the “Runway Intersection Marking” Category.
Built World Enterprise’s winning submission was picked from 63 entries, by a panel of industry, FAA and academic experts.
The team won $3,000 which will be split between team members and the team will head to Washington DC this Fall, to present their project to the Keck Center of National Academies.
Audra Morse, Chair of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department said “All BWE teams streove to create realistic design alternatives to address airport issues. However, this team excelled in understanding the true root causes of runway incursions.”
The winning team members were Lindsey Anderson, Skylar Callis and Kaitlyn Wehner.
